I use this E string with either the full PI set, or with the Evah Pirazzi Golds. Yes, it is expensive, but I do not feel it is a gimmick in any way. I get so much more warmth and richness, along with a tremendous amount of power, than with any other E I have tried! ( I work have worked in a violin shop for years, and have truly tried/played nearly every E on the market)
I have also found that I get an incredibly amount of life from this string. It is really not an exaggeration for me to say that I am just getting ready to change the one that I've had on my violin for the past 8 or 9 months!
I put this E on for a concert where I was playing Scheherazade and was needing more sweetness and power on the E. I actually went through about 5 or 6 different brands of E strings trying to find the right one for this. Needless to say, I have never looked back!

Though this is a nice e that has a good, strong tone, I feel that it is overrated and a bit of a gimmick. At around 20 dollars, it is easily one of the most expensive e strings on the market. It may be otherwise great, but the price is unreasonable. A $1.50 goldbrokat e is just as nice, motto mention the fact that one can buy quite a few of them for the price of one PI e. Don't waste your money on this
