What the manufacturer says:
  • A very fast and accurate response under bow action in pianissimi, fortissimi, spiccato, sautillé, staccato passages...
  • Increased possibilities for nuances under the slightest bow pressure
  • An easy emission in all the positions, which offers maximum comfort and reliability
  • A perfectly defined elasticity and stiffness which generate depth, density of sound and give the feeling of volume
  • A rich and clear sound in all the positions all the way up the fingerboard
  • A perfect balance of sound throughout the instrument range, with an easy transition from string to string.

This is the string I keep coming back to. I was recommended these by my local Luthier when living in France. Every other time I replace my strings I try something different (Dominants, Crystals...), but I keep coming back to Alliance Vivace. They have a rich, warm sound and resonate well without being overpowering, although on my violin they seem to whistle on certain E-string positions that I can't get rid of. They're very forgiving of poor bow position, and keep tune well in a variety of weather. I run the medium version with the looped E-string and they usually need replacing after 200 hours of play.

I recently installed a set of these after wearing out the dominants that were on my violin. Compared to the dominants, they were definitely richer and warmer. The sound is warm and complex, but also clean and ringing. These strings behave a lot like gut in the way that they allow one to shape the sound with bow speed as well as pressure. Since they settled, they have been very stable, even with Oberlin's weather. More people should try these strings. It's strange that they are not more popular

It's been more than ten years I use those strings. They are quite warm and well Balanced and very stable in time.
I've just changed to Cantiga Which are not so far from Alliance Vivace.
Alliance Vivace are less Rich in HIgher harmonics than Cantiga
Alliance Vivace are more expensive than Cantiga
