These are ideal strings for any violinist looking for more power without being too bright. The strings feel very smooth and pliable under the fingers. The silver D allowed for very clean transitions between strings while the hydronalium D gave my violin more punch and brightness.

One of the best strings I've tried. They're Warm and have a good projection. They don't sound as metallic when you first put them on like Dominants, so that was a plus.
My violin a Robert A. Corsby by Mark Moreland. It's a pretty warm soloist type violin but it can still sound brilliant at times.
Warchal Brilliant Violin Strings are a beautiful set.. They aren't too bright or too warm, and they project very well. My experience is like other people. I think they are one of the best sets on the market. What I like about these strings is that they go from a brilliant sound to a warm and beautiful warm sound that just sings around the 2nd or 3rd week just like the dominants. I haven't noticed any decline after 2 weeks. They're still going strong.
E string - I actually didn't use the brilliant E. I used the Amber E. Which I just love. It sings in high registers and doesn't choke at all. I haven't even gotten a whistle.
A string is one of the best A's I've used. The only problem is it's not for every violin.
D string is amazing. Has plenty of warmth, but is still able to project without being strained.
G string is warm and doesn't choke in high registers. Probably my favorite out of the set.
These are the best strings I've ever tried so far.. I love the price of them at only about $10 less than Dominants.
1. Every single string was amazing.
2. I love the change in character these strings undergo . Very warm tone from the original metallic nasal sound.
3. I love strings more than Dominants. If you don't like these as much as I do, something's wrong.

These strings stretch alot initially and take about a day or two to settle to nice clean tone which is neutral to warm. I agree with site review that the sound is a nice neutral warm sound with a shimmer rather than bright or brilliant. It imparts some of the qualities you hear in real guarneris where there is a high frequency shimmer underlaid by the warmer main tone of the violin. I discovered that the shimmer for all the strings is due to the E string. Somehow it is resonating as you play the other strings. My discovery was accidental as I found the E-string a little too polished and in aggressive quick bowing it can lead to a very high pitched screech (like playing a super harmonic 3-4 octaves up) probably due to bow hair skidding on the highly polished string. When I switched to Goldbrokat medium E, the shimmer disappeared from all strings and the violin sounded warmer in comparison (but still neutral). I love the shimmer so will try to take some of that high polish off the E and put it on again. Fantastic strings at great price (hope this review doesn't cause prices to rise!)
Edit (9/20/14): Update to the E string issue. As I was getting screeching from the highly polished E I decided to very slightly take off the high gloss by using a very worn 800 grit wet sandpaper and VERY gently sand evenly all around the string in the area where bow will contact (between bridge and fingerboard. Visually I saw that all was good when that portion of the string was no longer gleaming. No more screeching as bow hair grips. Goldbrokat is off and Brilliant E is back on and the shimmer is back!

These are absolutely the best strings on the market. I have tried countless brands of strings over the years (I have reviewed almost every string on this site) and few can compare to these. First of all, do not be deterred by the sound when you first install these. For the first few days, they were in all honesty pretty awful: flat, dull, and not terribly resonant. I installed these before a performance at Carnegie Hall and was afraid that I'd hit a dud. After two days, and a few hours of playing in, the sound completely changed. These strings have lightning- fast response, plenty of overtones, and an unbelievable amount of power. The name "Brilliant" is a bit of a misnomer though, as they are not terribly bright. The brilliance comes from the resonance of the strings. I play a relatively new (2011) American Guarneri copy by Kelvin Scott, and they bring the instrument to life in new ways. I can coax out any sound color, from icy pianissimos to ! burning fortissimos, and everything in between. In addition, the sound is balanced in all ranges. If I were to compare them to other strings, they have a tone that resembles a cross between the richness of passione or obligato and the power and "cut" of vision titanium solo, with a response as quick as a steel string. Two of my students use them and love them as well. If I have one complaint, it is the E string. Much like the dominant E, it just doesn't match the quality of the rest of the set. It is tense and incredibly prone to whistling, but very powerful. I recommend swapping it for a goldbrokat, my personal favorite. At the price, these are an unbelievable find. Try these today!!!

These start out quite horrible - no ring and no volume. Give them a week, and they blossom. Nothing negative to really take away from them. Quite pleasantly surprised after thinking I've hit a dud. There are more expensive strings that I do like better in specific categories, but I think these are the best for their price range.

All I can say is "diamond in the rough!" These are the strings I have been looking for. It is all the volume of Pirazzis without an overly bright tone. The strings settle in quite quickly, and have a balanced tone throughout. I have yet to try their "Russian Style A" but I am fine with the set the way they are. It doesn't hurt that the silk wrapping looks amazing too.
