All I can say is wow. Compared to the other dominant e strings, this string is in a league of it's own. By adding the infield blue e to the set, thomastik solved the problem of lousy dominant e strings. It is a very bright string with quite a bit of power. It can cut through whenever needed. This can be a double edged sword. (No pun intended). The string does not blend terribly well. Although i still prefer jargar or goldbrokat e strings, this nod is good nonetheless.

These strings have enough projection. A very beautiful tone that blends with Peter Infield well. It is stable. possesses little tension.
I think not combine so well with the rest of the set, because the dominant has very little projection.
Great string.

This finally fixes the Dominant E string dilemma for me. This string has a might higher tension compared to that of a regular E string (over 3lbs). The string definitely has a punch to it, and a brilliance that holds up throughout the length of the string. If you would like something a bit more soloistic sound this will work for you without having to order a separate Gold Label, or Jargar. The only issue that I have is that it does not blend well with the other three strings, but that is the trade off.
This seems to be the same E string that was made for the PI (Peter Infeld) set.
