I had used Helicore medium and heavy for several years, alternating between the two to get a fair test. At that time, I had not tried the Flexocor permanent due to the price. I have recently installed them and they are superior in the following ways:
Quick pitch stability upon installation, stable pitch thereafter, better feel under under the fingers, better tracking and dynamic response, more over-tones (richness) accurate harmonics and pitch. Worth the price.

Fiddlers who play old-time, bluegrass, or folk music on these strings will find themselves in lone company among the hordes that flock to Helicore & Prim strings, but choosing Flexocors will payoff. These strings stand out in a jam, or contest. They are warm, they project well, and their tone is the richest of any steel string I have ever played. They are also great for students. They respond instantly, but are forgiving. Classical players probably want to stick to synthetics, or gut strings. If you play on metal currently, however, you will love these strings.
