I absolutely love this e string. The tone is amazing and is very responsive. This e string is a powerhouse. I'd pair it with dominants or zyex. The dominant string is horrible and the zyex string is great but lacks power unlike the jarger. Get this string, you will not regret it!

There are too many high overtones, which makes it difficult to blend with typical synthetic strings (Dominant). Somewhat whistle prone.

The jargar forte e is one of my favorite e's, along with the lenzner goldbrokat. The tone is bright and clear, yet distinctly beefy sounding. The dynamic range is incredible. It is still easy to play despite the fact that the string is a heavy gauge. It works particularly well with dominants. The price is reasonable and the string lasts a fair amount of time. Overall, an excellent string

I feel both perplexed and apologetic that I'm the first to give this a rating other than a 5-star, and it's a 1-star. For me, Jargar gave a very steel-like sound, which was extremely unpleasant to the ear.

I have yet to try a plain steel E (no tin/gold plating or aluminium/chrome winding) that possesses the tonal palette of the Jargar Forte E string. I installed it recently with Dominant G, D and A since the Dominant E is notoriously bad (though I have yet to try their new tin-plated E). Immediately it had a clear ring to it, but had a sweetness and intriguing tone that was (to me) markedly different from other Es like Pirastro Gold Label, Kaplan Golden Spiral, Hill, Goldbrokat etc. The only string that came close in tone was (perhaps unsurprisingly) a Jargar medium E I tried on a friend's violin.
For now I am totally sold to this E string! Despite being a heavy gauge string it feels pliable under the fingers, and it does not lose any volume up the string. It also plays amazingly easily in pianissimo, and I can get a great "covered" tone from it in particularly hushed passages. When you need it, it has plenty of bite as well, but the attack is not aggressive like it can be with some E strings (particularly Hill heavy, I find). Very happy; I don't know how well it would work with other strings but for Dominants on my bright, sweet, complex Italian instrument it is a perfect match.

Excellent E string. Bright and neutral with a very clean, ringing sound. Long lasting.

This is my E string of choice. This string sort of brings my instruments tone together. Also a good choice for 5 stringed instruments.
