What the manufacturer says:
  • Kaplan violin strings offer professional-level players an unprecedented combination of beauty and power in two options, Kaplan Vivo and Kaplan Amo.  Kaplan Vivo delivers brilliance, clarity and robust feel for darker instruments, while Kaplan Amo provides warmth, richness and flexibility for brighter instruments.  Both sets settle quickly, ehibiting a rich tonal color palatte and superb bow response.

D'Addario's Kaplan Amo creates a wonderful balance between a big soloist sound but more warmth that is hard to come by in that category of strings.  These strings are perfect for those that already have a bright instrument and would like to have a projecting sound without becoming shrill.

I was given a set of these to try.. Very Good Strings.. I found that the richness and warmth of these is just what i was looking for... especially the D and A..Much warmer than Eva Parazzi or Vision.. Had them on for 6 weeks and just getting better.. So. If you are interested in a great warm string.. look for a try them.. Not sure about a price point yet.. Good luck

Loving the GD&E... the A however, is a bit too bright compared to the rest of the set and doesn't respond as well as the other strings.
