With Dominant on other strings, the open E sounds too bright, while stopped notes sound alright. Good projection. Very easy to whistle though.

The e that I am reviewing is the gold e. Like all gold plated e's, it has a fair deal of power but an awful tendency to whistle. The gold flakes off with time and the string goes false rather quickly. It is quite expensive at around 10 dollars. Overall, it is an ok string but is not worth the money

These strings are very unstable. Whistle. Lose the projection from the 5th position. They break easily. With obligato believe Pirastro No. 1 combines better than obligato (E) Gold. When applied little arc force, the sound comes out clean.
For me, the best is still the oliv (E) Gold and stood well with obligatos.
